The Atlanta Braves came up huge last season finishing 10+ games ahead of the next opponent in the NL: East.  The Braves would go on to lose though in the NLDS to the Los Angeles Dodgers.  The Braves went into the Offseason with a lot of questions and concerns and the filled a lot of them and made some pretty big news this offseason for their future.  The Braves started off this offseason by losing veteran catcher Brian McCann and pitcher Tim Hudson. The Braves then went out and picked up a couple of small pieces in Galvin Floyd and Ryan Doumit but  what the Braves did next was unexpected.  The Braves went out and signed Freddie Freeman, Craig Kimbrel, Jason Heyward, Andrelton Simmons, Julio Tehran and Kris Medlen all to multi-year deals.  The Braves also, announced they would be getting a new stadium this offseason that would be a multi million dollar facility.  Once the Spring started the Braves got bit hard by the injury bug.  After the departure of Tim Hudson the already young pitching staff got even younger when they lost two starters Kris Medlen and Brandon Beachy to Tommy John surgery.  This surgery will be the second surgery for both pitchers the braves also have not seen much of Mike Minor who is dealing with a urinary surgery. So to fulfill those injuries the Braves went out and signed veteran pitcher Ervin Santana and Aaron Harang.  Both Santana and Minor are expected to go to extended spring training where they should be ready by mid April.  With saying that the first 3 pitchers in the braves rotation will all be under 24 and all have less than 2 years MLB experience.  It will be interested if the Braves can go out and win with this very young but talented pitching staff and other questions come up such as will they see a reemergence of B.J Upton and Dan Uggla.  We will find all this out in just 5 days!
