The New York Mets are going to start off the season about the same place they ended last season in 4th place. The Mets finished the 2012 season with a 74-88 record. Although, the Mets did not have the season they wanted there was some ups to the 2012 season. They celebrated their 50th anniversary. Johan Santana pitched the clubs first No-Hitter. They where also the first team EVER in Major League history to hit for the Home Run Cycle. (Solo HR, 2-run HR, 3-run HR, and Grand Slam) Also, the Mets starting pitcher and knuckleballer R.A. Dickey won the Cy Young Award. With saying all of that the Mets may have only gotten worse this offseason. They traded away for R.A Dickey to the Toronto Blue Jays for a injury prone top prospect Travis d'Arnuad the Mets also parted ways with OF Jason Bay who they bought out for 21 Million. The Mets seemed to maybe have some hope this year when their starting 3B David Wright began to play for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic and he seemed as healthy as ever. Putting up great numbers and leading Team USA to the semi-finals and then the old injury prone David Wright returned and he withdrew from the WBC with a back injury. The Mets will hold their own and could still compete for 3rd place with the Phillies but we have them finishing at 4th.
