The Detroit Tigers are hoping to pick up where they where last year and return to the World Series. The Tigers finished last season with the best record in the AL and this year they could do the same! The Tigers return almost every player from last year except backup catcher Gerald Laird Delmon Young, and Jose Valverde but, the Tigers picked up to pretty impressive help. The Tigers signed gold glove winner Tori Hunter to a 2-yr deal. They also, picked up options on infielder Johnny Peralta and Octavio Dotel but, one of the key returns is the return of a healthy Victor Martinez. Martinez tore his ACL in the offseason and missed the whole season. Putting the 4x All Star in the same line up as Triple Crown winner Miguel Cabrera and another 4x All Star Prince Fielder it could be a bad day for pitchers. Lets also not forget they have the the best pitcher in baseball (Justin Verlander) and one of the best rotations. I expect the Tigers to have a great season and return to the playoffs in 2013 but, as a wild card participant not meaning they wont return to the World Series.
